Directions

  1. Place in a bowl; water, treacle, & Yeast. Leave to stand for a few minutes.
  2. Place in a large bowl: flour & salt.
  3. Grease two 500g loaf tins well with butter.
  4. Beat liquids with a rotary beater and pour into a well in the flour. Mix toghether and place in tins. Leave in a warm place to rise and then bake about 40 minutes at 190'C.
  5. If you would like a coarse crunchy loaf, use coarse ground flour and add 1c kibbled wheat ro rye, leaving out about 1/2c flour. Other flours such as rye can be used instead of all or part wholemeal.
