Ingredients

  • 6  tablespoons canola oil, divided
  • 1  large onion, sliced
  • 12 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1  small green bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 1  small red bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 1 12 lbs  beef  rib eye steaks, thinly sliced
  • 4  crusty  Italian rolls, split
  •  processed  cheese sauce (Kraft Cheez Whiz)
  •  ketchup (optional)

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, saute the onion, mushrooms and peppers in 3 tablespoons oil until tender. Remove and keep warm.
  2. In the same pan, saute the beef in the remaining oil (45-60 seconds).
  3. On each roll bottom, layer the beef, onion mixture, cheese and ketchup, if desired. Replace tops.
