Parsnips With Dark Beer Glaze

Ingredients
- 1 lb parsnip, cut in small chunks
- 1 cup stout beer or 1 cup brown ale
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons butter
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Combine parsnips, stout, cinnamon, and cloves in a heavy saucepan.
- Cover and simmer until barely tender, 8-10 minutes.
- Remove cover and simmer hard until liquid reduces to a glaze. Stir in butter.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
