You control the heat on this one. This is one of my favorite recipes that produces a very crispy and (hot wing spicy style) shrimp. I hope you enjoy it as much as our neighbors do. So easy you'll be amazed. Show more

Directions

  1. Using a deep fryer or deep pan, heat approximately 3 inches of oil to 400 degrees (I use peanut or vegetable oil).
  2. Mix enough Franks Red Hot sauce into the Tempura batter mix to make it thinner than beer batter. (the thicker the batter, the spicier the shrimp).
  3. Dip shrimp into flour, then into the Franks/Tempura batter, then coat with Panko Japanese style bread crumbs. Allow to sit for 5 minutes or so.
  4. Deep fry 4 to 6 shrimp at a time until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  5. As a dipping sauce, I mix Franks Red Hot Sauce with Ranch Dressing, it's awesome.
  6. Enjoy.
