Papa Hoban's Sloppy Joes

A classic, simple Sloppy Joe recipe that goes down a treat with the whole family. Reminds me of growing up with my siblings, and reminds my dad of his schooldays! Show more

  1. Heat oil in pan.
  2. Fry off beef and onions in a pan.
  3. Drain the beef and onions - return to stove.
  4. Crumble in stock cube, stir in to beef.
  5. Add tomato soup (remember condensed makes double!); stir.
  6. Now drip in Tabasco sauce one drip at a time. tasting all the while. add until you think it is hot enough for you and your family.
  7. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Then add a teaspoon of flour to absorb any fat that may have still come out the beef.
  9. Finally scoop into the hamburger buns, and enjoy!
  10. NB: This recipe is really good if you add about 350g of pasta into the sauce and leave out the hamburger buns. it makes a really nice hotdish.
