Panama Canal Dessert

This is one of my families favorite desserts. This recipe seems to have a lot of different names, and they are all delicious. 5/10/2021 I made this recipe with lactose free milk, dairy free whipped topping, and alternative cream cheese by Kitehill cream cheese. It turned out delicious. Using just 4 cups of milk with 3 pkgs of pudding (4 oz ) the instant pudding turned out the perfect consistency.. This can be made dairy free with delicious results. Directions

  1. Cream flour, margarine, and nuts. Press into 9 x 13 pan.
  2. Cook for 10 minutes @ 350°F Let cool.
  3. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, cool whip until smooth.
  4. Spread cream cheese mixture on crust.
  5. Mix together pudding mix and milk.
  6. Pour onto cream cheese mixture.
  7. Once pudding is set up, spread cool whip on evenly.
  8. Refrigerate until serving.
