  1. With a very sharp knife, remove skins and pith from oranges. Slice to make ½ inch thick rounds. Arrange on four plates.
  2. Sprinkle balsamic vinegar over oranges. Dot with ricotta cheese and scatter basil all over. Serve with pepper.
