Orange Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 4  cups flour
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1  cup brown sugar
  • 1  tablespoon  grated  orange rind
  • 2  cups butter, room temperature
  • 1  egg white, lightly beaten
  •  candied cherry

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix together flour, salt, brown sugar, and orange rind.
  3. Stir in butter until dough is smooth.
  4. Chill 1/2 hour.
  5. Roll out dough 1/2-inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Cut with a floured cookie cutter.
  7. Brush with egg white; decorate with candied cherries.
  8. Bake 15-20 minutes.
