Orange Butter Cream Squares

Someone brought this recipe in to work..and I just had to have the recipe..Delightful!

Ready In: 2 hrs

Yields: 25 bars

Ingredients

  • CRUST

  • 1 14 cups  about 25 finely crushed  chocolate wafer cookies
  • 13 cup butter, softened
  • FILLING

  • 1 12 cups powdered sugar
  • 13 cup butter, softened
  • 2  teaspoons orange zest
  • 1  tablespoon milk
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla
  • GLAZE

  • 1  tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1  tablespoon  unsweetened cocoa

Directions

  1. In medium bowl, stir together all crust ingredients.
  2. Press on bottom of 9" aquare pan.
  3. Cover; refrigerate till firm (about 1 hour).
  4. in smaller mixer bowl, combine all filling ingredients.
  5. Beat at medium speed until creamy. spread over crust.
  6. In small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients; drizzle over filling.
  7. Refrigerate until firm (1-2 hours).
  8. Cut into bars; store in refrigerator.
  9. ***NOTE*** to crush chocolate wafer cookies, place cookies in a resealable plastic food bag. Crush with rolling pin or flat edges of mallet.
