Orange Basted Wild Turkey

Serves: 8-12

Ingredients

  • 1  wild turkey, cleaned
  • 1 (6 ounce) can  frozen orange juice concentrate
  •  soy sauce
  •  pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Insert thermometer into the thickest part of the breast or thigh without touching bone.
  3. Sprinkle the bird with as much soy sauce as you would like (and then add more).
  4. Season the turkey with pepper.
  5. Cover turkey loosely with foil and bake for an hour.
  6. Baste the bird frequently with the frozen orange juice concentrate until it is gone.
  7. Finish cooking, covered, until thermometer reads 170°F.
