Onion Stuffed Turkey Burgers

This recipe comes from a Taste of Home magazine. The contributor is Megan Crow. I changed it up a bit by using onion instead of red pepper b/c my family doesn't care for red peppers. I don't think they need any additional condiments but that's up to you. You could also use ground chicken in place of the turkey if you wanted to. Show more

  1. Heat olive oil in a small frying pan.
  2. Add diced onions and saute over low-med heat until translucent.
  3. Set aside.
  4. In a bowl, combine soup mix,garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce,salt and pepper.
  5. Crumble turkey into bowl and mix well.
  6. Shape turkey mixture into 8 thin patties of the same diameter.
  7. Spoon sauteed onions and cheese into the center of 4 of the patties.
  8. Top with the remaining 4 patties.
  9. Press firmly to seal edges or you will have a mess.
  10. Grill burgers over low-med heat till the juices run clear approx 5-7 minutes per side, but it depends on your preference.
  11. Serve on buns.
