One-Pan Fruit Brownies

This recipe is from the Gooseberry Patch Fall Favorites Cookbook.

Yields: 16 brownies

Ingredients

  • 12 cup flour
  • 1  cup sugar
  • 6  tablespoons  baking cocoa
  • 12 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 2  eggs, beaten
  • 12 cup raisins (or tart cherries or cranberries)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place flour, sugar and cocoa in an ungreased 8 x 8-inch baking pan. Stir with a fork until thoroughly combined; set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, blend butter and eggs well. Pour butter mixture into flour mixture. Stir with a fork, scraping corners and sides until wet and dry ingredients are completely combined.
  4. Stir in dried fruit.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until center feels set when lightly touched. Cool and cut into squares.
