Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

• 1  cup molasses
• 1  cup sugar
• 1  cup  melted shortening
• 1  cup  very hot water, with
• 3  teaspoons baking soda
• 5  cups flour
• 1  teaspoon cream of tartar (mix in with flour)
• 2  teaspoons salt
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 2  teaspoons ginger
• 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients in order given. Let dough chill for 2 - 3 hours.
2. Roll out (not too thin) and cut out cookies.
3. Bake at 375°F for 10 - 12 minutes.
