Oatmeal Mountaineering Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1⁄3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 3⁄4 cups quick oats
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 3⁄4 cup applesauce
- 1⁄2 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon imitation vanilla
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup sugar-free maple syrup
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In large wisk together applesauce, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon, milk, and water.
- Mix (with fork or spoon) and fold in whole wheat flour and quick oats.
- Put mixture into a sprayed 9x9 pan.
- Right before putting into the oven, pour the syrup over the mixture and gently spread evenly with a spatula, so the maple flavor will bake in!
- Put in the oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes.
- Cut into 9 squares.
