Nutella Pinwheel Cookies

I have seen this recipe on quite a few different blogs and have yet to try it myself. But it looks scrumptious and who doesn't love nutella? Show more

Yields: 30 cookies

  1. Mix the butter and sugar together until creamy.
  2. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Stir in the sifted flour.
  4. Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes to help firm it up for rolling later.
  5. Remove dough from refrigerator and roll into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread Nutella on top of dough, leaving one finger width around all the edges.
  7. Sprinkle with toasted hazlenuts.
  8. Roll dough into a log and return to refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  10. Cut slices from dough and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 10 minutes.
  12. Note: If you've cut thicker rounds, you will need to bake them longer.
  13. Watch for the edges to begin to color and remove from oven.
  14. Cool one minute on pan and transfer to cooling rack.
