Noreta's Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2⁄3 cup pecans, chopped
Directions
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Grease and flour a 13 x9 baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together 2 cups of flour and 2 cups of sugar. Set Aside.
- In a saucepan, bring 2 sticks butter, 4 TBSP Cocoa, and 1 cup water to a boil.
- Pour over flour and sugar mixture.
- Add in 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 eggs, 2tsp baking soda, and 1 tsp vanilla.
- Pour into greased and floured baking pan and bake for 30 minutes.
- While baking, mix together the following:.
- 1 stick softened butter, 4 TBSP cocoa powder, 6 TBSP milk, 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 2/3 cup chopped pecans.
- As soon as cake is out of oven, spread frosting over cake.
