No-Guilt Refried Beans

Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1⁄4 cup thick & chunky salsa (I prefer Pace Picante, medium)
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
- 1⁄8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon margarine
Directions
- Combine beans, salsa, onion and garlic powder in 2-quart saucepan. Bring mixture to boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 7-10 minutes, or until onion is translucent, stirring occasionally.
- Add margarine. Stir until melted. In food processor or blender, process mixture until smooth. Serve as a taco or burrito ingredient, side dish, or as a dip to chips or vegetables.
