Nan's Oatmeal Chocolate Cake

This is moist cake and I love the texture. This was my Nanny's recipe now my kids love it. I like that it's in a 8+8 pan, or cupcakes.

• Yields: 1 cake

Ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup margarine or 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1 3⁄4 cups brown sugar
• 2  eggs
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 1  cup flour
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 3  tablespoons  spoon  cocoa
• 1  teaspoon baking soda
• 1  cup hot water
• 1⁄2 cup oats

Directions

1. Add the hot water to the oats in a small bowl and set aside.
2. Cream marg, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs.
3. Sift flour, salt, coca and soda.
4. Add the oats the the butter mixture.
5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet.
6. Pour into a 8-8 greased and floured pan.
7. Bake @ 350 for 30-35 minute.
