Nadeya's Flan

Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 5 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.
- Set aside a 4 qt oven-safe dish. Over medium high heat, melt 1 cup of granulated sugar in a metal pot.
- When it has become dark caramel brown and bubbly, pour into 4 qt dish.
- Combine evaporated milk, condensed mil, eggs and vanilla and stir to combine well. If you whisk mixture, tap bowl on countertop to release any air bubbles.
- Pour mixture into 4 qt dish over the caramel.
- Place dish into a pan and pour boiling water into that pan until it comes halfway up the sides of the flan cooking dish.
- Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350 degrees, until set.
- Cool on the countertop, then chill in the refrigerator.
