My Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 5 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla and sour cream.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Blend into creamed mixture slowly. The dough will be light and sticky.
- Cover and wrap dough and chill overnight.
- On lightly floured surface, roll the dough to 1/8th inch.
- Cut into desired shapes.
- OR work dough into a log and slice to make round cookies.
- Place on silpat covered sheet. (you can sprinkle with colored sugar before baking if you don't want to ice them.).
- Bake 8-10 minutes until very light brown.
- Remove from sheet and place on wire rack to cool.
- Decorate as desired.
