My Mom's Maple Syrup Recipe

My mom was making this before I was born, I guess her mom taught it to her. She taught it to me (my wife actually) and now I'm giving it to you. Show more

Yields: 3 cups

Ingredients

  • 2  cups water
  • 1  lb brown sugar
  • 1  cup  Dark Karo syrup
  • 1  teaspoon  maple flavoring

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring.
  2. Reduce heat.
  3. Keep stirring and let it "cook" until the sugar is completely incorporated.
  4. Enjoy!
