Mushroom Cheese Dreams

Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried fines herbes
- salt
- fresh ground black pepper
- Worcestershire sauce, a dash
- 2 English muffins, split
- 1⁄4 cup herbed cream cheese
- 4 slices bacon, cooked until crisp, halved
- 4 thin slices gouda cheese or 4 fontina or 4 gruyere
Directions
- In a medium nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Cook mushrooms, green onions, and fines herbes, stirring often, for 3 minutes or until mushrooms are softened.
- Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Toast English muffins and place cut side up on baking sheet.
- Spread each with cream cheese and layer with 2 half slices bacon.
- Top with mushroom mixture and a cheese slice.
- Place baking sheet under preheated broiler for 1-2 minutes or until cheese melts.
- Serve immediately.
