Mrs. Roby's Sugar Cookies

This recipe came from my grandmother from her friend, Mrs. Roby. They were a part every year of our Christmas cookie selection. We used nuts, raisins, and colored sprinkles. Since being married, we have merged our traditions by adding the painting of these cookies. Rolling them thin is an art. I'm still trying Mom! Show more

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and mix well.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt and add to mixture beating well.
  4. Add milk and flavorings.
  5. Chill overnight.
  6. Roll thin and cut with your favorite cookie cutters.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes (will depend on the thickness of your cookie).
