Mrs. Patton's Sheet Cake

Ingredients

- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup oleo
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 1 cup water
- 3 1⁄2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
frosting
- 1⁄2 cup oleo
- 1⁄3 cup milk
- 1 dash salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1⁄2 tablespoons cocoa
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1⁄2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
Directions
- Sift and set aside: sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Bring to boil: 1/2 cup oleo, shortening, water, and 3 1/2 T cocoa.
- Add to dry ingredients and beat well.
- Add vanilla, 1/2 cup milk, and vinegar.
- Bake at 400* 20 minutes in greased cookie sheet.
- While baking, beat together frosting ingredients.
- Spread frosting on cake while it is still hot.
