Mrs. G's Honey Brownies

Yields: 16 2" brownies
Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1⁄3 cup shortening
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 6 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Butter an 8" square pan. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a small bowl; set aside.
- Melt the chocolate and shortening in a double boiler over warm, not boiling, water.
- Remove from heat and beat in the eggs, honey, and vanilla.
- Stir in the dry ingredients and nuts and beat until well blended.
- Spread in the prepared pan and bake 25-30 minutes. Cool in the pan and cut into squares.
