Mrs. Fields Cookies

Mrs. Fields is a chain of cookie stores which was started in the Utah area. I don't know if this is really her recipe, but it's sure a good imitation. This really makes a lot, so when I make them, I freeze several after them have been baked for later use.

Ingredients

• 1⁄2 lb butter (use real butter)
• 1  cup white sugar
• 1  cup brown sugar
• 2  eggs
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 1  teaspoon baking powder
• 1  teaspoon baking soda
• 2  cups flour
• 2 1⁄2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
• 0.5 (16 ounce) bag chocolate chips
• 1 1⁄2 cups  chopped  nuts

Directions

1. Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
2. Gradually add remaining ingredients and mix well.
3. Shape into good size balls and place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Press slightly.
5. Bake at 400°F for 6 minutes only--no longer.
6. Do not remove from pan until cool.
