Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening or 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 cup coconut
- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 egg
Directions
- Cream shortening. Add sugar and egg.
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Add alternately with coconut and walnuts.
- Bake 350°F for 10-12 minutes or until brown.
