Mom's Sugar Cookies

I miss my mom's sugar cookies. I found the recipe so decided to put it on.

Ingredients

• 3⁄4 cup shortening (partal butter if wanted)
• 1  cup sugar
• 2  eggs
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla (or lemon flavor)
• 2 1⁄2 cups flour
• 1  teaspoon baking powder
• 1  teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
2. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Chill for 1 hour.
4. Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutter.
5. Bake at 400 degrees from 6-8 minutes.
6. Make sure you bake in the very middle of the oven or the bottoms will be too brown.
