Mom's Shortbread

This recipe was given to me by my Mom and I think it was my Granny's too.

Ready In: 1 hr 20 mins

Yields: 1 med cookie sheet

Ingredients

  • 1  lb butter (not marge.)
  • 1  cup  berry sugar
  • 12 cup  rice flour
  • 4  cups flour

Directions

  1. Sift flour, rice flour and sugar into a bowl.
  2. Add butter.
  3. Work in butter until like a short pastry.
  4. Pat into pan and prick all over with a fork.
  5. Place in 300F oven until lightly colored, then reduce heat to 275F and bake about an hour.
  6. I always mark the cut lines before baking.
  7. the size I like is 1"x2".
