Molasses Jumbles

These cookies are very old-fashioned. Eating them is like eating a bit of history, or so my partner tells me. There was a time when molasses was the main sweetener for many people. Show more

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Bring the butter to room temperature so that it is soft.
  3. Cream the butter with the brown sugar.
  4. Stir in the molasses.
  5. Add the egg.
  6. Measure out the flour and add to the butter/molasses mixture.
  7. Stir until partially blended.
  8. Add the milk and blend well.
  9. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
  10. Bake 10 min.
  11. or until set in the center (no imprint remains when lighty touched with a finger).
