- In mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, molasses and egg. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices and stir them into creamed mixture. Place in refrigerator for 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to cool dough.
- Scoop dough up by the teaspoonful, roll into little balls, and roll balls in granulated sugar.
- Place them on greased baking sheets 2 inches apart to accommodate spreading.
- Bake at 350F for 12 minutes, or until cookies are flat. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from sheets.
