Mocha Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 3⁄4 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄2 cup cocoa
- 1⁄2 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
- Sift flour and salt.
- Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs 1 at a time.
- Mix cocoa with hot coffee.
- Add to creamed mixture.
- Gradually add dry ingredients.
- Dissolve baking soda in boiling water and add to batter; blend well.
- Pour into greased and floured layer cake pans.
- Bake at 375°F for 30-35 minutes.
