Mini Fried Apple Pies

These take a little time to make, but are so worth it! Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving for a nice presentation. Cooking time is minimal per batch because filling is already cooked. Show more

  1. Combine flour, crisco and milk and mix well.
  2. (I like to do this is a food processor).
  3. Roll into balls the size of a walnut.
  4. Flatten each with a rolling pin.
  5. Peel and dice apples.
  6. Cook apples, butter, spices and brown sugar together until tender.
  7. Cool slightly.
  8. Place one tablespoon of apple mixture in the center of each flattened ball of dough.
  9. Fold over and press edges with a fork.
  10. Fry in oil that has been preheated to 350° until golden brown on each side.
  11. Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
