Million Dollar Cookies

This recipe was on Studio 5 today and it looked so good and versitile I just had to post it here to save it. You can also add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or raisins to batter before chilling, and bake as directed. Show more

  1. Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract in a large bowl until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar, add gradually to creamed mixture. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mold dough into 1-inch balls. Place onto greased cookie sheets. Flatten each cookie with bottom of a drinking glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Store in covered container.
