Milk Barfi

Ingredients

  • 2  liters milk
  •  edible silver foil, as desired
  •  chopped dry  almonds or   chopped dry pistachios or   chopped dry cashew nuts
  • 12 teaspoon  citric acid (dissolved in 1/2 cup water)
  • 250  g sugar

Directions

  1. Boil half the milk.
  2. Add citric acid and water.
  3. Sieve through a muslin cloth.
  4. Press out excess water.
  5. Boil the remaining milk till it reduces to half its quantity.
  6. Pour the sieved mixture in this.
  7. Boil milk till the mixture thickens.
  8. Stir continuously.
  9. Add sugar in the milk.
  10. Stir till it softly thickens in a lump.
  11. Set in a plate.
  12. Apply silver foil.
  13. Sprinkle the chopped dry nuts.
