Melon Sorbet

Melons are a great low calorie fruit. This sorbet makes a cool refreshing treat on a hot summer day. Time stated is freezing time. Show more

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 3  cups  chopped melon (honeydew, cantaloupe or watermelon)
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 23 cup white wine (Chardonnay or Chablis are good)
  •  mint sprig (to garnish)

Directions

  1. Puree chopped melon in blender;set aside.
  2. Combine the sugar and wine in a saucepan and simmer till sugar is dissolved.
  3. Mix in melon puree.
  4. Pour into loaf pan and freeze 4 hours till hard.
  5. Puree again for 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Return to freezer till time to serve.
  7. Garnish and serve.
