Ingredients
Meatballs
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3⁄4 lb ground pork
- 1⁄2 cup salsa (mild, medium or hot)
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
Sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1⁄3 cup ketchup
- 1⁄2 cup salsa
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix thoroughly.
- Shape into 1-1/2-inch balls.
- Place on a foil lined cookie sheet and bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes.
- Drain well on paper towel!
- Meanwhile heat sauce ingredients in a large frying pan, stirring to mix; add meatballs and toss to coat; simmer covered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
