Mary's Frosted Fruit Salad

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 2 (3 ounce) packages lemon Jell-O gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups 7-Up soda
- 2 (8 ounce) cans crushed pineapple, drained (reserve juice)
- 2 large bananas, cut
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
Frosting
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 egg, beaten
- 12 ounces Cool Whip
- nuts, chopped, to taste
Directions
- Dissolve jello in boiling water, stir in 7up.
- When jello partially sets, stir in pineapple, banana and marshmallows.
- Frosting: Combine sugar, juice, beaten egg and flour in a sauce pan over medium heat until thickened. Mix in butter and chill slightly. Fold into cool whip and spread on top of jello. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
