Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1⁄3 cup unsalted butter
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 fluid ounces milk
Directions
- Cream shortening and sugar together.
- Beat in egg.
- Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
- Add to mixture.
- Pour in milk to mixture.
- Mix together.
- Place in greased muffin tins.
- Bake in oven at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Remove the muffins from the pan and roll them in extra melted butter.
- Then roll the muffins into mixture of ½ cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
