Old Tom gin was popular in the 1880s. It's sweeter than it's London dry gin cousin.

Ingredients

• 2  ounces  old tom type  gin
• 1  ounce  italian sweet vermouth (red vermouth)
• 1⁄2 teaspoon  luxardo marachino  liqueur
• 2  dashes  bitters
• 2  cups  ice
• 1  strip  of fresh lemon peel

Directions

1. In a large glass combine ingredients and stir.
2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
3. Twist a strip of fresh lemon peel over the top and drop inches.
