Ingredients
- 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
- 1⁄3 cup olive oil
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil
- 3 tablespoons garlic, minced
Directions
- In a large sauce pan saute olive oil, onions, and garlic until soft.
- Add salt, pepper, oregano, and basil, stir.
- Add tomatoes and sugar.
- Slowly bring to a boil then simmer covered over low heat 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
- Makes 10 cups.
