Marilyn's Tortillas!
Ready In: 50 mins
Serves: 8-12
Ingredients
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup oil
- 1 cup water (more or less)
Directions
- By hand softly blend the dry ingredients, then oil and when all ingredients are blended well slowly blend in the water till you get a nice soft, smooth, elastic ball. Make sure you don't over blend to avoid making a tough ball.
- Heat a griddle. Best to cook with a cast iron skillet etc.
- Divide the dough into 8 to 12 even dough balls. Lightly kneed them into disks. Place the disks into flour and roll out on a dusted surface. (this takes practice).
- Place rolled tortillas into heated skillet/griddle and turn once little bubbles appear. Then cook onto other side, then turn once more. Place in a towel to keep warm. When done slather with butter -- yuuuum!
