Maple Syrup Tarts

Yields: 12 tartlets
Ingredients
- 1⁄3 cup butter
- 1⁄3 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1⁄2 cup chopped toasted pecans or 1⁄2 cup walnuts (optional)
- 12 medium prepared tart shells, baked
Directions
- Melt butter over low heat and blend in ornstarch, then syrup and milk.
- Bring to a boil.
- Stir and cook until thick.
- Continue cooking 2 or 3 minutes more, stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat, and let cool 15 minutes.
- Spoon into baked shells.
