Maple-Pecan Pie

Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups pecans, toasted
- 1 cup maple sugar
- 2⁄3 cup maple syrup
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- 1⁄4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pie crust
Directions
- 1. Bake the pecans 350 degrees, 8-12 minutes, until toasty. Set aside to cool.
- 2. Heat the sugar, syrup and butter to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool.
- 3. Beat in the eggs, cream and vanilla. Stir in the pecans.
- 4. Pour into a crimped pie crust.
- 5. Bake 400 degrees, 10 minutes, 350 degrees 30-35 minutes., until a knife tip inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 6. Serve with unsweetened maple flavored whipped cream, if desired.
