Lulu's French Dip Roast (Crock Pot)

This is the tastiest roast beef I've ever made...and so easy!

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 1  large onion, quartered and sliced
  • 1 (3 lb)  beef roast, fat trimmed
  • 12 cup water
  • 1 (1 ounce) package  au jus mix
  • 18 teaspoon  seasoned pepper

Directions

  1. Place onion in crock pot.
  2. Place meat on top of onion.
  3. In a small bowl, stir water, au jus mix and seasoned pepper until blended.
  4. Pour over roast.
  5. Cover and cook on High for 5 to 6 hours; or on Low for 10 to 12 hours, or until tender.
  6. Remove meat from liquid.
  7. Let stand for five minutes before thinly slicing across grain.
  8. Strain liquid and make gravy.
