Lone Star Firesnackers

A spicy, "hot-as-you-want-it" snack cracker. So easy to make and keeps well (if they last). My son-in-law is addicted to these; he even asked for a batch of them for his birthday present. Show more

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  vegetable oil
  • 1 (1 1/4ounce) package  hidden valley ranch dressing mix
  • 14-12 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 160  saltine crackers (1 four-sleeve box)

Directions

  1. Empty crackers into a very large bowl.
  2. Mix together the oil, dressing mix and cayenne pepper.(use the recipe amounts or more according to how spicy you want them).
  3. Pour over crackers and toss with hands until all are coated.
  4. Let stand, tossing occasionally until crackers have absorbed all the mixture and are dry.
  5. Store in a zip-lock bag or a large air-tight container.
  6. Note: The cooking time is the approximate standing time.
