Lindsey's Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is an old fund-raiser cookbook from a local theatre company, Characters Incorporated, here in Saint John, NB. I don't know who this recipe is from, but it's the favourite around my work, friends and family...Enjoy!

• Yields: 40 cookies

Ingredients

• 2 1⁄4 cups flour
• 1  teaspoon baking soda
• 1  cup margarine (room temp.)
• 3⁄4 cup sugar
• 3⁄4 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 1⁄2 teaspoon water
• 2  eggs
• 1 (8 ounce) package  milk chocolate chips

Directions

1. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
2. Combine margarine, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and water. Beat until creamy.
3. Beat in 2 eggs.
4. Add flour mixture, mix well.
5. Stir in chocolate chips.
6. Drop by rounded spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. I like mine chewy, so sometimes it's less than 10 minutes.
