Lime Sherbet

I saw this recipe in a book and I thought it sounded good.

Ready In: 6 hrs 10 mins

Serves: 8

Ingredients

  • 1  tablespoon gelatin
  • 1  cup sugar
  • 4  cups  lime soda
  • 3  egg whites, whipped stiff
  • 12 cup  almonds or 12 cup pistachio nut, chopped

Directions

  1. Soak gelatin in two tablespoonfuls of cold water for 5 minutes.
  2. Add 1/2 cup boiling water and stir until dissolved.
  3. Cool.
  4. Add sugar and lime beverage.
  5. When partly frozen, as thick as mush stage, add egg whites and nuts.
  6. Freeze.
