Sometimes I substitute other things for the lentils : TVP, ground soy "beef", brown rice, oats...whatever. This is great over toasted whole wheat buns or rice. Show more

  1. Combine all ingredients in a pot and simmer about 2 1/2 - 3 hours or until lentils are very soft.
