Lasagne Classic

Ingredients
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 12 ounces lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ricotta cheese
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese
- 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions
- In sauté pan with lid, sauté onion in oil. Add beef and garlic and cook till brown.
- Stir in tomato sauce, paste, water and spices. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
- Cook noodles with 1 T of olive oil. Drain, rinse and drain.
- Arrange half noodles in casserole criss cross, then half of sauce. Then half ricotta and half of mozzarella.
- Repeat layering and top with Parmesan.
- Bake uncovered in 350* oven for 30-40 minutes.
